	The Niobrara River is an outstanding example of a largely free-flowing Great Plains river. The valley contains a large concentration of scenic river cliffs and waterfalls that are rare in the Great Plains the high bluffs along the river provide scenic vistas of the Niobrara River valley and its many ecosystems.
	And the braided lower river provides important nesting habitat for the endangered interior least tern and threatened piping plover. The river also provides important migratory habitat for the endangered whooping crane, bald eagle, and peregrine falcon.

               Many artifacts have been found        from 12,000-15,000 years ago
 The Niobrara River is 450 miles long
Smith Falls is the highest waterfall in Nebraska and is along the Niobrara. Niobrara River  was know as "Running Water" to Indians and early settlers.
The water flows 6-8 miles an hour.

Their are many animals to see along the Niobrara. Some of these include:
Bison, Elk, Raccoons, Muskrats, Bobcats, Coyotes, Porcupines, Prairie dogs, Bats, over 200 types of birds, 56 different species of ticks and butterflies, many different reptiles ,amphibians and fish. and many more
